How to Use Pinterest for Branding Inspiration

, ,

Pinterest is SO GOOD for SO MANY different things. One of those, is for branding inspiration! If you’re anything like me, you could scroll on Pinterest all day err day and swoon over the many pretty images that we see. After a while though, the “types” of pins that we tend to repin have a certain look to them. For example, I am drawn to white, crisp images with clean lines and probably hints of pink. This probably means that this will transpire into my branding – it does. 🙂 Recently, I went through a little rebrand and this is the exact process that I went through to help me finalize my branding style. If you’re confused as to what your branding style is, what look your business should go for, and what colors to use – you’re in the right place. How to Use Pinterest for Branding Inspiration…

Create a Secret Pinterest Board

You will want to make this inspiration board secret because it won’t be relevant to your Pinterest account. You are only going to use this board for a short period of time, so make it secret.

Fill that Board with Anything That you Find Inspirational

Now, go through Pinterest and search for images that you think you may want to use for branding inporation. For instance, I like the colors pink and copper – so I searched for those! I found some images that I loved and some, not so much. I also pinned brand boards and looked at their color options. Don’t be afraid to pin hundreds of images on here – that’s the point! Pin anything that catches your eye so that when we go back in to look at that Pinterest board, there’s a clear “look” to the pins that you liked the most.

Examine What you Have Pinned

Here are the things that you will look for when you are examining the pins that you included on this board: color, style, layout, lines, design, etc. Just go through and either comment on the pins what you don’t like or just go ahead and delete them. If you’re still undecided and need more inspiration – go through Pinterest and pin MANY different types of images. Don’t be afraid to go crazy here – you can go through and see your branding style, even in the mist of the chaos. You know you are done with this board when you love every single image on it and you see a consistent look.

Create and Use a MoodBoard for your New Brand

Next, you will want to experiment with the images that you fell in love with and insert them into a mood board. See more on How to Create a Pinterest Moodboard for your Brand in this blog post, here.

Purchase Styled Stock Photography to Represent your Brand

Now that you have your brand style figured out you’ll need images to bring your vision to life! There’s absolutely no better way to achieve this than with styled stock images. My go-to resource for feminine, affordable stock photography is Haute Chocolate. Besides the fact that I adore pretty things, pretty stock images are a must for driving traffic to your blog. Especially if you are promoting your blog on Pinterest (which you totally should be!). Your main image in your blog post should be used on all social media outlets, thousands will see it, so it needs to be pretty. Right?

Haute Chocolate’s selection of styled stock photos were designed with the woman entrepreneur in mind. Their images are both stylish and affordable. Best of all, they’re all high resolution files so you can use them as large website headers, or small instagram photos without a hitch. Use them to easily and beautifully communicate the quality & creativity of work that you do. By becoming a Styled Stock Library Member, you’ll have access to hundreds of professionally styled photos at your fingertips. Use the library as your resource when you’re branding your website, need an image for a blog post, creating social media images, or want a cohesive look for your online shop and products.

So how much does Haute Chocolate cost?

Seriously, let’s do the math. On the low side, purchasing one stock photo for $10 would allow you to own 22 photos for the yearly price of $225. Now, I have always liked math and this situation makes me love it – it is a NO brainer ladies. Also, if you think 22 images is a lot – it isn’t. You can use Haute Chocolate images for blog posts, your website, headers, sales, social media, and SO much more.
