Today’s post is one that I have worked really hard on y’all. Blood, sweat, and tears have went into it. I’m not kidding. Okay, maybe I am being a little dramatic…but I have some exciting news to share that I’ve worked really hard on. I have my own girl boss home office and I DIYed that bad girl!! I have NEVER painted a piece of furniture in my 28 years – ever. Needless to say I was super duper nervous to tackle my entire home office, but I did it. However, I couldn’t have done it without my secret weapon…
VELVET FINISHES PAINT
Velvet Finishes is a NO SAND, NO WAX, NO BRUSHSTROKES furniture paint. AKA magic in a bottle. With VF all you have to do is slap the paint on. say whaa? Yes, just apply the READY (the easiest way to prep furniture for painting) – slap the paint on – let the first coat dry – and then paint your last coat. This furniture painting virgin painted her bookshelf, desk, dresser, lamp shade, and office chair with Velvet Finishes! I feel like a DIY Badass y’all.
Let’s tour my absolute favorite space in my house – a space that is for me, myself, and I – a DIY Girl Boss Home Office!!
Here are the Velvet Finishes Colours that I used:
The white desk in the corner was painted with Velvet Finishes Minimalistic, as well as the bookshelf! My office chair was covered with Velvet Finishes Glamorous. Please don’t judge on the cords showing, I am NOT a DIY blogger and quite frankly after cleaning out this room, painting all of the walls, shopping for dĂ©cor, and painting all of this furniture – I didn’t care much about the cords. I’m keeping it real y’all. 🙂
This dresser, ah this dresser. It is now my favorite piece in the office – heck maybe in my entire house. We covered this monster in Velvet Finishes Boheme and changed out the hardware to new gold knobs. Totally stunning right?
This little furry stool is the Superhero’s favorite spot. 🙂
Â
The perfect shelfie? I think so!
This is a regular office chair from Office Depot that was brown, boring pleather. Since it is a totally comfortable chair, I wanted to keep it. So, you guessed it – we painted pleather with Velvet Finishes Glamorous! I know what you’re thinking…painting leather; that’s not possible. Remember, Velvet Finishes is magic in a bottle – it can do amazing things and transform just about anything. Want to learn more about painting leather or pleather? Take a look at this blog post from the creator of Velvet Finishes Paint – Design Asylum Blog.
I LOVE my gallery wall y’all! I gathered these prints from Etsy, framed them, and hung them semi-straight. I actually finished hanging them right before our pictures. This DIY life is NOT easy, whew! My hat is off to all of you DIYers.
My beautiful little corner minus the cords showing. Ugh, I have to fix those!
This fabric lamp shade was once a dark black. We painted it, yes you can also paint fabric with VF, with a coat of Velvet Finishes Glamorous and gave the lamp a fresh coat of Velvet Finishes Minimalistic.
My gallery wall above my desk brightens my day ladies!! I love the art work so much!!
When this DIY Girl Boss Home Office was finished we definitely celebrated and tossed that confetti!!
What do you think of my new DIY Girl Boss Home Office Tour? I hope that you are completely smitten with it like I am!
Now that I have had my hand at DIYing an entire home office I am ready to conquer more painting projects! What can I paint next with Velvet Finishes? The possibilities are endless. Thank you Velvet Finishes for creating a furniture paint, perfect for painting virgins like me – and if you’re an ol’ painting pro – this is the magic in a bottle that you have been waiting for. At first when I looked at your room I thought it a pretty house and pretty room and also must be pretty expensive but when I saw the transformation due to just colours I was completely awestruck!Sure you do have amazing choice of colours and I never considered of having white walls as I think they are plain and boring but your room is a really good example of how to spice up things.I have a leather bean bag and cant wait to paint it,this paint is just amazing. Thanks for sharing dear.

Love your pink chair 🙂
I am truly amazed at the ability of that paint to be used on leather/pleather. I would worry about it flaking off, but it clearly works. The office looks great!
