I think that we have all predicted it, videos are the next BIG thing for this social media game. Have you seen the Facebook Live videos that have been popping up all over Facebook? I have tuned into quite a few and have noticed that mainly business owners and bloggers are jumping on the Facebook Live train. So, let’s talk about Facebook Live and discover ways that bloggers can take advantage of this cool new marketing opportunity on Facebook!
How to Use Facebook Live for your Blog & Business…
Connect with your Audience
I think that the main opportunity that Facebook Live offers is the chance to connect with your audience on a deeper level. I mean, do you ever wonder what people’s voices sound like?! I know that I do. Being personal with your readers is what they crave, they want to get to know you – not just your blog. Check in with your audience and show them what you’re up to! You may not have a heck of a lot of viewers the first go round, but if you continue using Facebook Live – they will tune in and you can grow your personal connection with your readers.
Announce Biz News
What better way to show your excitement for things going on in your business than to “show” people?! Hop on Facebook Live and share with your readers any new business news and connect with them on a more personal live. Who knows; it may just increase the success of whatever you have going on in your amazing biz!
Advertise Products + Services
Most definitely, bloggers need to be using Facebook Live to advertise their products and services. Let’s be real here ladies – everything that we do is a part of our marketing plan. Am I right here? Now, be strategic with your Facebook Live posting time. I realize that we are all in different time zones, but just be aware of the time. Your target market is probably sleeping at 3am and not on Facebook Live.
Teach your Audience How to do Something Cool
Being able to actually “show” your audience something is a huge advantage! Whether you’re teaching them how to DIY a furniture piece or how to bake a cake – Facebook live is a great option to add to your biz arsenal. Keep in mind the attention span of most people – I wouldn’t make your Facebook Live videos super long. I think that a comfortable time frame would range from 1 minute to 10 minutes long; so keep that in mind when you are going to teach your audience something with a cool “how to” video!
Offer Live Q & A’s
One of the greatest features of Facebook Live is that your viewers can interact with you with questions! They can “talk” to you in the comments and you can then answer questions, clarify things, and have a conversation with them. Pretty sweet huh? Thanks Facebook!
Combine the above ways that I have listed and use them all; see what your audience reacts to the most and let us know! Have you tuned into any Facebook Live videos yet? I totally watched Kelly Clarkson on her first ever Facebook Live and she was hilarious – go check her out, here. Now – it’s time to get the video camera going…lights, camera, action!!
What a great post, Amy! It’s great to see that there are so many ways to use Facebook Live. I’ve never seen a Live video. How is it different from Periscope?
I’ve been seeing this utilized a little more on my feed lately, but curious how it’ll be with the new algorithms FB’s implementing (again)!
